Restaurant ALTER is located a stone's throw from the historic city center of Tongeren, in the former municipal school of Riksingen. Our new name was not chosen at random… “ALTER” is Latin for “different”. It is the spoken language of the ancient Romans to which we owe the city of Tongeren. With his distinctive style and respect for the ingredients, Jo knows how to touch his guests and offer them an experience that stays with them long after. He cooks outside the box with great intuition. He extracts the maximum flavor from a product without hiding it. Every dish is pure and legible.
